So ready!

The chocolaterie build out took a lot of energy on the part of an excellent team, but we are now finally ready for our day in the sun!   We had our first pre-opening tasting yesterday with our direct neighbors at West End Place, and it was delightful.  We shared every flavor in the shop, along with the gorgeous little pies of Renee by the Bay (lemon curd) and the vegan Dellie Bites of Joyful Spirit.  Both Renee and Ellie are colleagues from the Fork Food Lab, and I look forward to pairing their confections with our Mariage Frères teas and our decadent chocolat chaud.  Another local marvel is Gabrielle Lovi, who is contributing her fantastic jams.  Her motto is "field to jar" and her jams taste like it!

The shop will also carry every confection I loved as a child, including marzipan dinosaur eggs and "rocks" that yield under the tooth with soft insides of almond, chocolate and apricot.  We have Paris Caramels, with their fantastic consistency and intense taste.  And really good lollipops along with excellent hard candy.

This website will become a full sidekick to the shop, so customers can send a gift with a note anywhere in the country as they have been doing, or order online and then stop by the shop for pick-up.

So we are excited, happy and proud to become a real part of the Portland food community: please stop by 189 Brackett and we will share some chocolate with you!
