Getting your chocolate gift to its destination in perfect condition is THE goal. Our primary shipping partner is the USPS, now for 9 years. But even with our careful packing, summer temperatures are our biggest challenge, so we don't ship to a large part of the country between May 10 and October 10.
- We cannot ship to the 29 states that have the hottest conditions. They are: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington,D.C., West Virginia and Wyoming. We keep assessing the situation in other states and will add them to the no-ship list if needed.
- We resume service with the states above October 10. At that time we also switch to our lower winter rates.

- Please tell your recipient a gift is coming and to bring it inside right away. No package, even with insulation/ice packs, will resist hours in the hot sun or hot mailbox.
- We check the weather forecast at destination and insulate every shipping box and add an ice pack of the needed weight. To cover the cost of those extra materials, our shipping rates are higher May to October. Summer rates are: $15 to Maine, $17 to New England, $18 to the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest, and $20 to Western states. We will not ship without those protections.
- We will delay shipping if there is a big heatwave, and will advise you of the delay.
- We ship between Monday and Wednesday for 2 or 3 day destinations. But we will ship later in the week for some Maine destinations, as long as they are one-day delivery.
