Big Gianduja Egg
We just love our artisan gianduja (hazelnut paste combined with chocolate) and thought it would make a delicious lining for one of our big Eggs. We take beautiful hazelnuts from Hazelnut Hill (a family farm in OR), place them in our stone grinder, with organic sugar, till they are smooth as silk. To make it just a little more decadent, we then embed whole roasted hazelnuts into the gianduja. It is displayed in a beautiful box and accompanied by two marzipan chicks.
And this year, we are making one of the dark Gianduja Eggs vegan! Note that it has a strong bittersweet flavor, perfect for dark chocolate lovers. The other dark egg is done the classic way with a dark shell and milk chocolate gianduja.
