It is finally hot and summery, the best weather for ice cream and a dangerous time for (melting) chocolate! So perfect for us to take a breather and recharge our batteries. Both the boutique and the website will be closed till we resume our regular 1PM to 7PM schedule on Wednesday August 7. We will restart shipping online orders at that time as well.
When we opened 10 months ago, we couldn't have dreamt of a better launch for our little chocolaterie and being so swiftly adopted by our West End neighbors and the larger Portland community. Our challenge has been to make enough to meet demand, requiring us to improve our production methods and add another tempering machine (207, see above left, next to sibling Bertha). We are also growing the team in September with another chocolatier, so we can better meet our customers' needs and have more time to be creative.
In the meantime, we are going to rest, read, sleep, garden and pick strawberries. And dream of new chocolate tastes of course! So thank you for your kind understanding, and see you on August 7!
